Gambles Hardware has a long history in Caro and our downtown location has been a hardgoods/hardware store since the late 1800’s. It has had several different owners over the years and is now a Do it Best hardware run by Jeremy, Jason and Hank Kuhne. We purchased the store in 2007, from Rex and Carrol Ellsworth who operated it the past 31 years. Since taking over we re-merchandised the whole store and have more than doubled the inventory in the hardware store and have opened a full line gun shop on the second floor.

Some of the services offered by the Hardware are: Lock re-keying and key duplicating, pipe cutting and threading, scissor sharpening, storm and screen repair, custom sizes of glass and mirror and custom computer paint color matching. We sell most of our merchandise like copper tubing, pipe, screen, hose and all our bulk fasteners in just the quantity you need rather than forcing you to buy a whole unit. We recently opened the basement to retail sales and it houses our selection of water heaters, huge selection of kerosene heater wicks and the largest selection of stove pipe in the area. And you will find our complete sales staff very knowledgeable and helpful. We can help you through your project, start to finish.

The guys in our gun shop are hunters and they know the products they sell. We have over 500 guns in stock and we routinely beat the "big city prices". We stock hundreds of scopes and have a very thorough line of ammo including over 90 different types of shotgun slugs and over 75 different muzzleloading bullets. Some of the services we offer are scope mounting and bore-sighting while you wait, receiver drilling and tapping for scopes, and general gun repair.
